  • Mission

The Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman advocates for excellence in long-term services and supports wherever consumers live. The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program needs caring volunteers who will advocate for residents receiving long-term care in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

    About Us

The Ombudsman Program advocates for people receiving home care, assisted living, and nursing home care. We do that by working to resolve complaints about services, helping people select a provider, providing information about benefits and consumer rights, and commenting on public policy.

As an ombudsman volunteer, you will ensure residents are always treated with dignity and respect and enjoy the satisfaction that comes with helping others. Volunteers receive guidance and support needed from our experienced staff. Our volunteers perform their duties on their own schedule at an assigned facility.
