Moonlight Children’s Home established in April 2009 provides a home for the abandoned homeless
and orphan children (especially girls) of Nepal located in Taukhel, Godawari - 03, Lalitpur, Nepal. MCH
is a registered (NGO) non–profit, non-government organization of Nepal to provide home, food, edu-
cation, clothes, a healthy environment and entertainment to the development of children so that they
grow up to lead a normal life and a good citizens. Thousands of parents, especially mothers, die every
year due to poverty, ignorance and superstitions. There are large numbers of children who lost their
parents and become orphans. Moreover, Nepal suffered from conflict for about twelve years. During
this period many people lost their lives and many were orphaned during the decade-long Maoist con-
flict. After the devastating earthquake in Nepal in 2015, several children lost their families and
became orphans. Realizing these facts Moonlight Children’s Home was established to improve the
suffering of these children. In our patriarchal society females are dominated by the male society in
every aspect of their life and to grab the opportunities as a whole. So Moonlight Children’s Home is
especially for the protection of such kinds of needs and orphan girls.
We believe that girl is the most important part of the family to create a family environment happy
and productive. One educated man means only for him but one educated woman means for the whole
family. The woman has a great responsibility towards family and closer to family members. We want
to call a lady volunteer to work with us from your place so she will understand the situation of orphans
and needs children. They will also get a chance to know more about our country, culture, language and
education system.
