    The Leahy Family Foundation was established in 1996 by Virginia K. Leahy as a private family foundation. The Leahy Family Foundation is committed to improving quality of life. In pursuit of this mission, the Foundation has selected the following areas of focus: Provide development opportunities for people with special needs, endow educational support for children, and aid research institutions aimed at finding a cure for cancer

    The purpose of the organization is to raise money for charitable, religious, literary, scientific, and educational purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (or other corresponding provision of any future United States Internal Revenue Law).
