  • Mission

    Universal Removal Defense Project is a nonprofit human rights and legal services organization dedicated to protecting the rights, dignity, and family unity of immigrants and noncitizens from all cultures and linguistic backgrounds.

    The organization’s mission is to provide low-cost and pro bono immigration legal services and legal education to individuals and families facing removal or deportation proceedings, including asylum seekers and other vulnerable populations fleeing violence, persecution, or serious human rights violations.

    About Us

    Universal Removal Defense Project seeks recognition under the U.S. Department of Justice Recognition and Accreditation Program in order to provide authorized immigration legal representation before the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration Courts, and the Board of Immigration Appeals. Services will be offered to individuals regardless of nationality, language, culture, or income, with an emphasis on access to justice for underserved and marginalized communities.
