Description
Music Volunteers enhance our senior residents' lives at Saint Therese by providing music for entertainment or to support therapeutic recreation activities.
Responsibilities (to include one or more below)
- Assist with music therapy programs
- Provide instrumental background music during mealtimes
- Share music and engage with residents who would benefit from music
- Provide music lessons to residents or lead choir/band
Knowledge, Skill or Abilities Required
- Enjoys sharing music with residents
- Good communication skills and patience
- Interest in developing ongoing relationships with residents
- Demonstrated performance experience via a performance resume or other method.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines
- Able to follow infection prevention and control procedures to minimize risk of disease transmission and maintain health and safety of residents, staff and volunteers
- Able to understand state laws protecting vulnerable adults and reporting mandates
