About Grievia
Grievia is a global movement dedicated to changing how grief is understood, supported, and held. Through thoughtful storytelling, reflection, and design, we create space for honest conversations around loss, care, and connection.
About the Role
As the Executive Director, you will provide strategic leadership for Grievia, guiding organizational growth, fundraising efforts, external partnerships, and long-term vision. You will work closely with the Board and leadership team to drive impact and make key decisions that advance Grievia’s mission.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute Grievia’s strategic vision and organizational priorities.
- Lead fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and resource development efforts.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, stakeholders, and communities.
- Manage Board relationships, reporting, and governance processes.
- Provide leadership and direction across all organizational functions.
- Support sustainable growth and long-term organizational development.
Who This Role Is For
- Prior experience (5+ years preferred) in executive leadership, nonprofit management, organizational strategy, fundraising, or a related role.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams, managing partnerships, and driving organizational initiatives.
- Strong understanding of governance, strategic planning, and organizational decision-making.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to represent Grievia with professionalism, empathy, and integrity.
- Ability to provide a commitment of at least 10 hours per week for the role.
- Passion for advancing compassionate conversations around grief, loss, and connection.
- Comfortable leading a remote, multicultural, and mission-driven organization.
