    Description

Position: International Volunteer – Organizational Development

Overview MCODE is seeking a dedicated International Volunteer in Organizational Development to strengthen the internal systems, staff capacity, and long-term sustainability of the organization. This role is essential in ensuring that MCODE continues to deliver high‑quality services to vulnerable communities, even though it is often a less visible area of support. The volunteer will contribute to improving budgeting, project planning, fundraising, marketing, and staff training, while also enhancing the organization’s ability to implement impactful community programs.

    Key Responsibilities

      Capacity Building

      • Train MCODE staff and selected community groups in areas such as household income improvement, HIV/AIDS awareness, gender equality, malnutrition, and other cross‑cutting community issues.
      • Strengthen staff skills in project management, reporting, and community engagement to improve service delivery.

        Proposal Development

        • Lead the development and writing of high‑quality funding proposals for various program areas.
        • Support the creation of concept notes, budgets, and donor‑specific applications to attract sustainable funding.

          Partnership Building

          • Liaise with government agencies, NGOs, and development partners to identify collaboration opportunities.
          • Represent MCODE in relevant meetings, networks, and sector platforms.

            Research and Data Collection

            • Conduct research and gather data relevant to MCODE’s programs, beneficiaries, and strategic priorities.
            • Support the development of evidence‑based programming and informed decision‑making.

              Reporting and Documentation

              • Prepare and compile half‑yearly and annual reports on activities supervised or supported by the volunteer.
              • Strengthen internal documentation systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and accountability.

                Advocacy and Representation

                • Promote and advocate for MCODE’s work to donor agencies and partners.
                • Serve as a reference point for MCODE during the volunteer’s stay and, where possible, after returning home.

                  Additional Support

                  • Carry out any other relevant duties assigned by the Director, based on emerging organizational needs and the volunteer’s expertise.

                  Desired Skills and Qualities

                  • Strong background in organizational development, project management, or nonprofit administration.
                  • Excellent communication, writing, and analytical skills.
                  • Experience in training, facilitation, or capacity building.
                  • Ability to work collaboratively in multicultural environments.
                  • Commitment to community development and social impact.
