    Description

    Holiday school teacher

    Holiday School Education

The Holiday School Teacher program takes place during the summer months and is designed for children and students from a variety of backgrounds who may not have performed well during the previous school year, as well as those who are interested in gaining additional knowledge before the upcoming school year begins.

The objective of this program is to give children and students the opportunity to benefit from the knowledge and skills of international volunteers. With the support of volunteers, students can expand their understanding of different subjects, reflect on areas where they struggled during the previous school year, and strengthen their confidence in learning through a more flexible and supportive environment.

Teaching activities take place during the day. In the afternoons, some of the children participate in football games together with members of the local community as part of the “Football for Life” program. These activities are also used to raise awareness among youth about important health and social topics such as HIV/AIDS, drug abuse, and malaria prevention.

By participating in this program, volunteers work closely with other international volunteers and members of the local community. It is a rewarding opportunity to share knowledge, support students’ learning, and experience daily life in Bertoua.

Volunteers with experience in teaching subjects such as foreign languages, science, history, art, or IT are especially welcome. Training in everyday life skills or health-related activities can also be valuable contributions. This program allows volunteers to apply their teaching skills in real-life situations while gaining insight into diverse cultural and educational environments.

Volunteers may also bring small items such as books, school materials, souvenirs, or small treats that can be used during intercultural workshops and educational activities with the students.
