    Description

Volunteer Facebook Lead | Run Our Community Town Square | Remote | 3–5 hrs/week

Most rescue Facebook pages feel like bulletin boards: an adoption post, a donation ask, an event flyer, repeat.

We want ours to feel like a front porch.

Every Legacy Paws platform has its own personality. Instagram belongs to the dogs. TikTok is the Chaos Department. Facebook is the Town Square: the place where Legacy Paws talks with people, not at them.

That means asking real questions and actually answering the replies. It means letting people vote on things, guess things, and name things. It means inviting them to tell their own dog stories, celebrating their wins, and making them feel like part of what we're building.

Right now, we're in the middle of raising money for Piper, a 70-pound goofball who needs surgery on both knees. We have a turtle nest about to hatch, a haunted trail getting ready for Halloween, and a community that wants to help. We need someone to bring them together, starting now.

You'll own it. Your voice, your conversations, your ideas.

    How it works

Each week, our content calendar sets the goals: maybe it's a fundraising push, a call for fosters, a new partner to spotlight, or an event to promote. You decide how to tackle them. We tell you what we need people to do. You use your skills to persuade them to take action.

    What you'll do

    • Start conversations people actually want to join, like "What would you do?", "Help us decide," and "Show us your dog's weirdest habit"
    • Turn our weekly goals (fundraising, recruiting fosters and volunteers, finding adopters, spotlighting partners) into posts that invite participation instead of just making announcements
    • Run community challenges, polls, guessing games and photo threads
    • Share dog updates, milestones and wins, and invite the community to celebrate them with us
    • Host occasional Facebook Lives, events and invitations
    • Reply to comments and messages so people know a real person is listening
    • Help supporters start their own Facebook fundraisers for our dogs
    • Share what's working with our social media manager so we can keep improving

    What we're not looking for

A page that just posts announcements. Instagram posts copied over. Guilt-trip fundraising. If someone could scroll our page without once feeling like they were invited to join in, we're doing it wrong.

    Who we're looking for

Someone who loves getting people talking. You know how Facebook works for pages, groups and events, you write like a friendly human, and you'd rather reply to 20 comments than write one perfect caption. Community management or nonprofit experience is a plus, but warmth and follow-through matter more.
