Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight
Lead the Education Committee in developing a comprehensive strategy for community and volunteer education.
Ensure educational programs support CARE’s mission to reduce homelessness, promote adoptions, and enhance animal welfare in Chatham County.
Advise the Board on emerging trends in animal welfare education, public engagement, and training.
Program Development
Design and oversee educational initiatives, including public workshops, school presentations, and community events.
Ensure educational content aligns with current best practices in animal care and rescue.
Incorporate evaluation methods to measure the effectiveness of programs and identify opportunities for improvement.
Develop training materials and programs for fosters, adopters, and volunteers.
Community Engagement
Build partnerships with schools, community groups, veterinarians, and local organizations to expand CARE’s educational reach.
Represent CARE at community events, speaking engagements, and outreach opportunities.
Promote awareness around spay/neuter, pet microchipping, vaccinations, and responsible pet ownership.
Committee Management
Recruit and mentor volunteers to serve on the Education Committee and as program facilitators.
Coordinate committee meetings and activities, ensuring regular updates to the Board.
Collaborate with the Communications and Fundraising Committees to amplify educational initiatives through CARE’s digital, social, and community channels.
