    Typical patient visit: about 1 hour per week per patient — but you choose your level of involvement. Some volunteers visit multiple patients, giving as much time as they’re able.

    Providence Home Health & Hospice is looking for caring volunteers to spend time reading to hospice patients who can no longer comfortably read on their own.

    Whether it's a favorite novel, newspaper, devotional, magazine, or inspiring story, your voice can provide comfort, companionship, and meaningful moments.

    Volunteer Responsibilities:

    • Read books, magazines, newspapers, or devotionals to patients.
    • Visit patients in homes or care facilities within a 60-mile radius of Wichita.
    • Provide companionship through conversation and the joy of reading.
    • Visits are scheduled around your availability.

    No medical experience is needed. We provide training, orientation, and ongoing support.
