International Girls Club Facilitators( Empower the Next Generation of Female Leaders Abroad)

🔴 Note for Applicants: This is an on-site international volunteer placement located in Accra, Ghana. This opportunity is AVAILABLE for ONLY INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEERS and UNIVERSITY STUDENTS from Europe, America, Asia, Australia and Antarctica traveling to Ghana from abroad. Volunteers are responsible for their own flights and visa arrangements, accommodation and feeding. People living in Ghana do not qualify.

SFLIG Volunteers runs the Changemakers Ambassadors Club—a dynamic grassroots initiative designed to equip teenage girls with the tools, confidence, and academic support they need to become positive change agents in their communities.

Previously an extracurricular program, our Girls' Mentoring Club has expanded into a full-day immersive initiative (running from morning to afternoon). We have found that true empowerment blends leadership development with academic success. Therefore, this role uniquely combines core subject tutoring with self-esteem building, mentorship, and life-skills workshops.

As an International volunteer, you will work directly with young girls in a supportive environment, helping them break academic barriers and realize their full leadership potential.

    🛠️ Key Responsibilities:

    • Academic Support & Tutoring: Assist girls in the morning and afternoon with core academic subjects including Mathematics, Science, English Literacy, Social Studies, and ICT (Information and Communication Technology).
    • Workshop Facilitation: Plan and lead interactive club sessions focusing on self-esteem building, leadership skills, understanding human rights, and civic responsibilities.
    • Creative Engagement: Use interactive games, puzzles, team-building exercises, and creative arts to make learning engaging and impactful.
    • Community & School Follow-ups: Conduct periodic, structured follow-ups with club members at school or home to track their growth, support their well-being, and encourage their lifestyle as "Change Agents."
    • Excursions & Field Trips: Help organize and supervise educational excursions to historic sites, nature reserves, or local businesses to expand the girls' horizons and environmental awareness.

    🌟 Requirements & Qualifications:

    • Age: 16+ (Open to students, professionals, groups, and couples).
    • Skills: Speak English, strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a passion for gender equality and youth mentorship.
    • Experience: No formal teaching or counseling certification is required; SFLIG volunteers provides full on-site training and orientation. Creative or tutoring experience is a plus!
