    Description

    Medical Reserve Corps Volunteers

The Medical Reserve Corps of Scott County works to strengthen public health, emergency respond, and community resiliency. We are a countywide, community-based resource of health professionals and non-medical volunteers.

Examples of Non-Emergency Activities: MRC-SC volunteers have helped at annual immunization clinics, assisted with clerical duties for Scott County Public Health, provided education at public health events, attended trainings and exercises (mental health first aid, naloxone, etc.), and more.

Recent Emergency Responses: During COVID-19, MRC-SC served various roles in testing and vaccination clinics: greeter, usher, registration, and vaccinator. Volunteers provided essential support and time over this years-long response. Clinical staff activities may include, but are not limited to taking medical histories, administering vaccines or medications, or answering a hotline. Non-clinical staff may be needed to register clients, assist with supplies and equipment, enter data, or provide other logistical support.
