    SEVA Travelers spend 4 -5 days with the organization (mornings on-site, afternoons exploring--enough time to collect information for the project). They continue the engagement virtually, meeting via Zoom for 1-3 months to complete the deliverable

    THIS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY REQUIRES APPLICANTS TO HAVE 10+ YEARS OF RELEVANT EXPERIENCE IN THE NONPROFIT SECTOR, PREFERABLY AS A PROFESSIONAL FUNDRAISER OR IN A SENIOR DIRECTOR POSITION.

    By sharing our expertise with NGOs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), SEVA Travelers’ pro bono consultants, coaches and trainers are empowering the next generation of social entrepreneurs with the skills they need to succeed.

    Pro-bono Consulting Services

    S.E.V.A. Travelers offers great nonprofits in Asia, Latin America, and Africa free consulting services to achieve greater scale and impact. This pro bono support includes:

    • Grant proposal writing (and training staff how to write winning grant proposals)
    • Foundation and corporate funding prospect research
    • Fundraising strategy development
    • Website design and development
    • Social media, marketing, and communications support
    • Fundraising Databases/software
    • Designing Monitoring, Learning & Evaluation systems

    SEVA Travelers has partnered with GlobalGiving to identify great nonprofits in low- and middle-income countries. Together we have reached out to almost a thousand NGOs in the Global South about our suite of pro bono consulting services and the possibility of hosting a SEVA Traveler. Thanks to this exciting partnership, S.E.V.A.     Directions

    SEVA Travelers offers host organizations to choose from across Tanzania, with placements in Dar es Salaam, Moshi, Arusha, Mwanza, and Usa River. These opportunities allow volunteers to contribute to impactful initiatives focused on gender equality, LGBTQ+ advocacy, child and community welfare, education, healthcare, and social entrepreneurship. Volunteers will collaborate with inspiring nonprofits that are building long-term organizational capacity through fundraising strategy, grant writing, donor engagement, and communications development—all while experiencing Tanzania’s vibrant culture, welcoming communities, and stunning natural beauty.

    These vetted and verified NGOs include:

    LGBT Voice Tanzania – Dar es Salaam

    A nonprofit advocating for LGBTQ+ rights and social justice across Tanzania. Volunteers will support fundraising efforts, donor research, and grant writing while strengthening digital communications and advocacy strategies to increase international visibility and partnerships.

    Amani Foundation and Initiatives – Dar es Salaam

    Dedicated to supporting children and families through education, healthcare, and community programs. Volunteers will help design fundraising strategies, develop donor engagement plans, and create digital content that effectively communicates impact to global audiences.

    Networking for Society Development Organization (NESODO) – Mwanza

    Focused on community empowerment and social development projects, particularly among marginalized groups. Volunteers will assist with donor research, grant writing, and communications planning while helping implement systems for tracking project outcomes and impact reporting.

    Msichana Imara Foundation – Arusha

    A women- and youth-centered nonprofit promoting gender equality, leadership, and entrepreneurship. Volunteers will support fundraising, partnership outreach, and communications initiatives that amplify the organization’s advocacy work and expand its donor base.

    Maisha Outreach Therapy Organization (MOTO) – Moshi

    An organization providing therapeutic, educational, and social services to children with disabilities and their families. Volunteers will help with fundraising and donor outreach, strengthen communications materials, and design marketing strategies to promote inclusive education and health programs.

    Femme International – Moshi

    A nonprofit addressing menstrual health management and gender equality through education and access to resources. Volunteers will assist with grant writing, partnership development, and fundraising strategy while supporting communications and advocacy efforts to engage global supporters.

    Wakefulness Orphans and Widows Tanzania (WOW) – Usa River

    A community-based organization supporting orphans, widows, and vulnerable families through education, vocational training, and social programs. Volunteers will strengthen fundraising initiatives, donor relations, and marketing efforts to enhance sustainability and reach.
