    Program Assistant (Software & Data) - Unpaid Position

    Overview

    ANAM Georgia is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Volunteer Program Assistant (Software & Data) to support the Executive Director with a mix of technical, administrative, and program development tasks. This role is ideal for someone who wants to apply computer science and data skills in a nonprofit setting while also contributing to broader organizational needs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Software & Data Support (STEM-aligned)
      • Maintain and update simple databases/spreadsheets, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
      • Automate recurring reports using Python, SQL, or Excel macros to streamline workflows
      • Support basic integrations between web tools, online forms, and internal systems
      • Conduct light data analysis and visualization to assist with program tracking and reporting
      • Provide basic troubleshooting for software tools used by the team
    • Program & Administrative Support
      • Assist with drafting grant proposals and organizing supporting documents
      • Help maintain donor, partner, and program tracking spreadsheets
      • Draft and send communications to partners, funders, and volunteers
      • Participate in virtual check-ins with the Executive Director and contribute to team planning
      • Support ad-hoc organizational tasks such as event prep, content updates, or admin support

    Qualifications

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Familiarity with Python, SQL, or Excel/Google Sheets (preferred)
    • Interest in applying software and data skills to real-world nonprofit operations
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
    • Previous experience with grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit support (a plus but not required)
