    Description

    iPub Cloud International

iPub Cloud International is a nonprofit publisher with a simple conviction: the right words, carefully tended, can change minds and open doors. Our catalog spans interfaith dialogue, social justice, memoir, education, global crises, and children’s literature books that do actual work in the world.

We’re looking for experienced proofreaders who want their skills to matter for a project, not a permanent commitment. Check out our website ipucloud.org for examples of our current publications.

    How it works

Each assignment is project-based with a defined scope: typically two months, 15–20 hours per month. When the project wraps, you’re done no open-ended obligation.

Volunteers who enjoy the work are welcome to take on additional projects, but that’s always a fresh conversation, not an assumption.

    What you’d work on

Manuscripts, blog content, and promotional materials across our catalog. Our housestyle is Chicago. You’ll work remotely via email and shared documents alongside editors who take the craft seriously.

    What we’re looking for

     3 - 5+ years of professional proofreading experience

 Strong command of grammar, punctuation, and usage

 Familiarity with CMOS (or genuine willingness to learn it)

 Respect for the author’s voice alongside a sharp editorial eye

    What you get

The work is unpaid, but it’s real: substantive projects, a collaborative team, and the particular satisfaction of handing an author a cleaner version of something they’ve spent years building.
