Are you a new MLIS graduate wanting to gain some reference experience to put on your resume? Or a seasoned librarian who wants to further develop their skills? Then consider this opportunity to volunteer with Answerland, a 24/7 virtual reference chat service!
Answerland is Oregon’s online reference service - a place where librarians across the country help anyone who lives, works, or goes to school in Oregon find answers to questions and receive research guidance (if you are outside of Oregon, you may submit Oregon-related questions, including local history and genealogy, using an email form). Librarians can keep their reference tools sharp through training and by participating in a collaborative environment that facilitates sharing of expertise, virtual reference trends, and best practices.
Answerland volunteers are 100% remote; you can answer questions from your living room! Speak Spanish? We offer bilingual services and would be glad to have your expertise. Inquire today to see if Answerland is YOUR answer for volunteer service!
