    Description

    Role Overview

    Volunteer 15 - 20 hrs/month to assist remotely from home. Flexible hours. Weekly 40-60 minute Zoom calls held once a week in the afternoons eastern time zone. Assist our Volunteer Services team by helping us to recruit, onboard and support a variety of creative and talented remote volunteers (e.g., proofreaders, editors, translators, grant researchers, bloggers), from around the world.

    Typical Examples of Work

    You will help compose and write periodic notices and connect with current volunteers to provide updates on publications, recognize completion of projects, and help volunteers to better engage with iPub. You may place volunteer posting notices on job boards and review incoming resumes and background summaries. Another responsibilities might include updating applicant and volunteer databases for status and assignments or correspond/communicate with new and current volunteers from around the world regarding their status and volunteer experience.

    Ideal for professionals with paid or unpaid event organizing/inviting/engaging/or recruiting-related (Human Resources) experience. .

    Key Skills & Tools

    Familiar with three or more of the following: Google Drive tools and use Google Sheets, Folders, GMAIL, Google Calendar. Familiar with MS-Word.

    Effective communication skills in English and writing. Spanish speaking is a plus.

    Previous experience in inviting people to participate, or staffing, placement /attracting volunteers for a group, clubs, events, staffing, or HR etc. Basic familiarity with EEO and multicultural sensitivity.

    Communicate (English) with remote volunteers from multiple countries around the world.
