    Job Position: (Volunteer) Manager of Human Resources

    About Gender Freedom Society:

    Gender Freedom Society is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to building an inclusive and supportive community for gender-diverse people. Through education, advocacy and community building, we create spaces where everyone can thrive in their authentic selves.

    Candidates for this position must be residents of North America.

    Role Summary: As a (Volunteer) Manager of Human Resources for Gender Freedom Society,

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead recruitment strategies, conduct interviews, and design onboarding programs to attract and retain top talent.
    • Act as a liaison between management and staff, mediating disputes, addressing grievances, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
    • Collaborate with the Internal Policy team to ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations, providing updates as needed.
    • Manage performance appraisal systems, identify training needs, and coordinate professional development programs.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to forecast staffing needs, design organizational structure, and develop retention initiatives.

    Qualifications:

    • High emotional intelligence to resolve conflicts and build trusting relationships across all levels of the company.
    • Ability to track HR metrics (e.g., turnover rates, time-to-hire) to make data-driven decisions.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or 3-5+ years of relevant experience preferred.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
