    Description

Volunteer(s) needed to open accessible campground facility for the season

Wilderness On Wheels is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that runs a wheelchair accessible mountain facility. We open for the season on Friday, May 22nd and need some last minute help to get our facility up and running.

Spend a day volunteering with us! You have the option of staying overnight in one of our tent sites as well (tents, car camping, RVs welcome).

    Duties may include:

    • Unpacking / unboxing supplies that were stored over winter
    • Basic ground maintenance (stocking firewood, cleaning up debris from the boardwalks)
    • Brush clearing
    • Opening the cabins / restrooms (basic cleaning like vacuuming, running a dust cloth over surfaces)
    • Setting out sandwich board signs
    • Clearing off the gazebos (sweeping away any debris)

What to bring: sunblock, light jacket / rain jacket, snacks, lunch, plenty of water, work gloves.

What to wear: jeans or sturdy pants, long sleeve shirts (or layers), hiking boots or similar sturdy footwear.

We have: public restrooms, charcoal grills (bring your own charcoal), and tent sites if volunteers want to stay overnight. We supply firewood for the fire pits.
