    SEVA Travelers spend 4 -5 days with the organization (mornings on-site, afternoons exploring--enough time to collect information for the project). They continue the engagement virtually, meeting via Zoom for 1-3 months to complete the deliverable

    By sharing our expertise with NGOs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), SEVA Travelers’ pro bono consultants, coaches and trainers are empowering the next generation of social entrepreneurs with the skills they need to succeed.

    Pro-bono Consulting Services

    S.E.V.A. Travelers offers great nonprofits in Asia, Latin America, and Africa free consulting services to achieve greater scale and impact. This pro bono support includes:

    • Grant proposal writing (and training staff how to write winning grant proposals)
    • Foundation and corporate funding prospect research
    • Fundraising strategy development
    • Website design and development
    • Social media, marketing, and communications support
    • Fundraising Databases/software
    • Designing Monitoring, Learning & Evaluation systems

    SEVA Travelers has partnered with GlobalGiving to identify great nonprofits in low- and middle-income countries. Together we have reached out to almost a thousand NGOs in the Global South about our suite of pro bono consulting services and the possibility of hosting a SEVA Traveler. Thanks to this exciting partnership, S.E.V.A.     Directions

    SEVA Travelers offers five host organizations to choose from in Bhutan, spanning both the capital city of Thimphu and the eastern region of Mongar. Volunteers will have the opportunity to engage in projects that support sustainable development, community wellbeing, animal welfare, environmental resilience, and organizational capacity-building—all while experiencing Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage and its unique commitment to Gross National Happiness.

    These vetted and verified NGOs include:

    Gross National Happiness Centre Bhutan (GNHCB) – Thimphu

    Promotes holistic development guided by Bhutan’s philosophy of Gross National Happiness, balancing economic progress with environmental sustainability, cultural preservation, and good governance. Volunteers will help strengthen the organization’s fundraising capacity by developing a long-term strategy for donor cultivation, grant opportunities, and community partnerships.

    Bhutan Animal Rescue and Care (BARC) – Thimphu

    Dedicated to animal welfare and rescue, BARC provides care for stray and injured animals while promoting responsible pet ownership. Volunteers will contribute to fund development and expand international outreach through social media engagement aimed at tourists and skilled volunteers.

    Mountain Hazelnuts Venture Pvt. Ltd. – Mongar

    A leading social enterprise working with Bhutanese farmers to grow and export high-quality hazelnuts, supporting rural livelihoods and environmental restoration. Volunteers will engage in on-site fieldwork, community outreach, and strategic communications, while also experiencing local culture and the organization’s sustainable agribusiness model.

    Horticulture Association of Bhutan (HOAB) – Thimphu

    Supports Bhutanese farmers and horticultural producers through education, advocacy, and resource sharing to enhance productivity and sustainability. Volunteers will assist in developing a strategic plan to strengthen organizational direction and long-term impact.

    Bhutan Kidney Foundation (BKF) – Thimphu

    Provides life-saving support, education, and advocacy for individuals living with kidney disease in Bhutan. Volunteers will assist with governance review, capacity-building initiatives, and proposal writing to expand the foundation’s reach and effectiveness.
