Generation Guiders Community-Based Organization (CBO) is a youth- and community-led organization based in Githurai, Kenya, working to create a future where every girl is informed, confident, and empowered.

We are looking for passionate, committed, and socially conscious volunteers from Kenya and around the world to join us in advancing girls’ empowerment, youth development, community health, education, and social change.

As a Generation Guiders volunteer, you will have an opportunity to contribute your skills, experience, creativity, and ideas while working alongside young people, community members, schools, and local partners.

What You May Do

Depending on your skills and interests, volunteers may support:

• Girls’ empowerment and leadership activities.
• Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) education and awareness.
• Menstrual health and hygiene initiatives, including menstrual health education and outreach.
• Tulia Girls School Clubs and school-based activities.
• Peer education and youth mentorship programmes.
• Community outreach and mobilization.
• Prevention of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) awareness and advocacy.
• Community theatre and creative advocacy for social change.
• Research, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEAL).
• Communications, storytelling, photography, videography, and social media.
• Fundraising, grant research, proposal development, and donor engagement.
• Digital skills, website development, graphic design, and technology support.
• Event planning and coordination, including youth and girls’ empowerment events.
• Administrative and organizational support.

Who We Are Looking For

We welcome volunteers from diverse professional, academic, cultural, and personal backgrounds. You do not need to have experience in every area of our work.

We particularly welcome people who are:

• Passionate about girls’ and young women’s empowerment.
• Interested in Girl Child and women development and community-led change.
• Respectful, responsible, reliable, and willing to learn.
• Comfortable working with diverse communities and adolescent's Girls
• Able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Committed to safeguarding, confidentiality, dignity, and inclusion.
• Able to contribute skills in areas such as education, public health, SRHR, social work, communications, media, research, fundraising, technology, advocacy, or programme management.

Students, recent graduates, professionals, retirees, and international volunteers are all welcome to express their interest.
