    Director, Women in NAAAP New York (WIN)

    Description

    NAAAP New York is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), all-volunteer, AAPI professional organization that promotes the career advancement and leadership development of Asian American professionals in all fields through professional development, community service, and social events. We are the founding chapter of the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP), with a history dating back to 1982.

    About Women in NAAAP (WIN):

    Women in NAAAP (WIN) was launched in 2009 at the NAAAP National Convention with a compelling vision to empower, support and engage Asian American women to succeed as professional and personal leaders as well as contributing to their communities and cultures - "Leadership Inspired by Women." You will be reporting to the VP of Programming.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Program Development and Management (40%):

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive WIN programming framework aligned with NAAAP NY's mission and objectives
    • Oversee planning and execution of WIN NAAAP NY workshops and events

    Team Collaboration and Management (20%):

    • Work closely with other teams, particularly Programming and Marketing & Communications, for smooth execution of WIN NAAAP NY in-person/virtual workshops and events
    • Manage and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative environment

    Partnership Development and Community Engagement (20%):

    • Identify, cultivate and maintain relationships with the community and potential partners to enhance WIN NAAAP NY’s opportunities for growth
    • Engage with the WIN NAAAP NY community to understand their needs, preferences, and feedback

    Resource Management and Quality Assurance (10%):

    • Manage WIN NAAAP NY’s budget effectively, ensuring optimal resource utilization
    • Ensure the delivery of high-quality workshops and events by monitoring outcomes, collecting feedback, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives

    Leadership Meetings and Volunteer Engagement (10%):

    • Participate in bi-weekly leadership meetings to discuss and strategize chapter activities
    • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to actively support WIN NAAAP NY and the organization

    Qualifications:

    • Passion for and alignment with WIN’s mission and values.
    • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Experience in event planning and project management.
    • Passionate about women' s rights and social impact.
    • Adept at working in a diverse and multicultural environment.
    • Previous experience in a leadership or management role is a plus.

    Time Commitment:

    • Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of 12 months, actively participating in the planning and execution of at least 1-2 major WIN NAAAP NY organized in-person event and at least 1 virtual workshop or cross-chapter collaboration per year
