Fun and Energetic Volunteer Community Outreach Coordinator
Are you passionate about creating meaningful connections and building strong community relationships? Machiah’s House is seeking a dedicated and creative individual to join our team as a Volunteer Community Outreach Coordinator. In this role, you will help expand our reach, raise awareness about our mission, and engage the community in supporting young women who have aged out of foster care.
About Machiah’s House: Machiah’s House is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safe transitional housing, life skills training, and access to critical resources for young women who have aged out of the foster care system. Our mission is to empower these young women to build independent, successful lives by offering them the support they need to thrive during this critical transition into adulthood.
Volunteer Role: Volunteer Community Outreach Coordinator
    Job Description:
Community Engagement: Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage the local community, universities, businesses, faith-based organizations, and other nonprofits in supporting the mission of Machiah’s House. Help create partnerships that will provide resources, volunteers, and financial support for our organization.
Raise Awareness: Increase public awareness about the unique challenges faced by young women aging out of foster care. Utilize events, social media, and community presentations to share information about Machiah’s House, the impact of our programs, and how people can get involved.
Event Coordination: Plan and coordinate outreach events such as volunteer fairs, informational sessions, and community service days. Engage community members to attend and participate in events that support the mission of Machiah’s House. Collaborate with other nonprofits and community groups to co-host events and broaden our impact.
Collaboration with Universities & Schools: Build relationships with local universities, schools, and student organizations to recruit volunteers and interns. Develop partnerships with programs such as social work, marketing, and education departments to create opportunities for students to engage with our mission.
Volunteer Recruitment: Work with the volunteer management team to recruit and retain a diverse group of volunteers who can assist in various aspects of our programs, including fundraising, mentorship, and life skills training. Promote volunteer opportunities to individuals, groups, and businesses in the community.
Build Partnerships: Cultivate relationships with local businesses, civic groups, faith-based organizations, and other nonprofits to encourage them to support Machiah’s House through donations, sponsorships, and collaborative efforts. Identify potential donors, corporate partners, and in-kind support to further the reach of our services.
Social Media Outreach: Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling content for social media platforms that highlights our programs, success stories, and upcoming events. Engage with the community online and encourage them to share our mission with their networks.
Public Speaking & Representation: Represent Machiah’s House at community meetings, conferences, and networking events to promote our mission and programs. Serve as a spokesperson for the organization and speak about the importance of supporting young women transitioning out of foster care.
Resource Development: Assist in identifying and developing resources that can be used to further our outreach efforts, such as brochures, presentations, and digital content. Ensure that our materials effectively communicate our mission and the impact we are making in the lives of young women.
Tracking & Reporting: Monitor and report on the success of outreach efforts, including tracking new partnerships, event participation, and community engagement metrics. Provide regular updates to the leadership team to help improve and refine outreach strategies.
    Desired Qualifications:
    • A passion for helping at-risk youth, particularly young women aging out of foster care
    • Experience in community outreach, public relations, or nonprofit work
    • Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills
    • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate events and outreach initiatives
    • Comfortable speaking in public and representing the organization
    • Creative and innovative approach to engaging diverse communities
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Dedication to Machiah’s House’s mission and a commitment to furthering its goals
Impact: As the Community Outreach Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in expanding the reach of Machiah’s House and ensuring that the young women we serve receive the support they need. Your efforts to build community partnerships and engage volunteers will directly impact the success of our programs, helping to provide safe housing, life skills training, and essential resources for young women aging out of foster care.
