    Organization: Mentor A Promise (MAP)

    Location: Remote East Coast

    Type: Volunteer

    Reports To: Executive Director (CEO)

    Works Closely With: The CEO and Executive Leadership Team

    About Mentor A Promise

    Mentor A Promise (MAP) is a New York City–based nonprofit serving children and youth ages 5–18 experiencing housing instability through mentorship, literacy, social-emotional learning (SEL), career pathways, and community partnerships. Programs are the core of MAP’s mission—where relationships, consistency, and impact are built every day.

    Role Overview

    We are seeking a Program Manager to work with the senior executive leadership team (Chiefs) to ensure projects and initiatives are on track and to drive progress across the organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Attend weekly Chiefs meeting, take notes, record next steps
    • Check in with Chiefs weekly one on one to ensure project progress
    • Assist in removing roadblocks
    • Provide timely updates to CEO on progress, delays or bottlenecks
    • Monitor effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
    • Ensure alignment with MAP’s mission and dignity-centered approach
    • Develop systems for tracking program performance and outcomes
    • Prepare updates and reports for leadership
    • Maintain clear, timely communication across leadership and program teams
    • Ensure responsiveness via Google Workspace and organizational systems

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Experience in program or project management
    • Collaboration and communications skills
    • Initiative, attention to detail, organization, follow thorough
    • Strong operational, and strategic thinking skills
    • Alignment with MAP’s mission and dignity-centered values

    Preferred

    • Experience in nonprofit or school-based environments

    Commitment

    • Approximately 5–10 hours per week
    • Minimum 6-month commitment required
    • Hybrid / remote with NYC-based coordination as needed
