    About Us:

    Delta Rising Foundation accelerates science-based, systemic solutions while building sustainable systems for long-term community impact. We support initiatives in climate solutions, regenerative design, resilience, and sustainability, and are growing our team to strengthen program management and operational impact.

    Role Summary:

    The CA Forest Expert will provide subject matter expertise on California forest ecosystems, supporting the design and implementation of sustainable forest management, wildfire resilience, and ecological restoration initiatives. This role ensures that projects are grounded in science-based practices and aligned with environmental sustainability and climate resilience goals.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide expertise on California forest ecosystems, including biodiversity, wildfire dynamics, and land management practices.
    • Support the development of forest restoration, conservation, and resilience strategies.
    • Analyze environmental data and contribute insights to guide decision-making and program design.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate forest science into broader climate and sustainability initiatives.
    • Identify risks, challenges, and opportunities related to forest health, wildfire mitigation, and ecosystem services.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in forestry, environmental science, ecology, or a related field with a focus on California forests.
    • Strong understanding of wildfire behavior, forest management practices, and ecological restoration.
    • Familiarity with environmental data analysis and reporting.
    • Knowledge of relevant policies, regulations, and sustainability frameworks.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience with GIS tools and spatial analysis.
    • Background in climate adaptation, carbon sequestration, or regenerative land practices.
    • Experience working on nonprofit or mission-driven environmental projects.
