    Description

Are you passionate about animal advocacy and looking to make a difference in the way the world sees and treats animals? Lady Freethinker is a nonprofit that deeply cares for animal protection and gives a voice to those who cannot speak out for themselves. We effect meaningful, lasting change through investigative reporting and other media, citizen petitions, and partnerships with rescuers and activists on the ground worldwide. Together, we are changing the way the world sees and treats animals for the better.

We continue to grow and are currently seeking a Board Member to join our Board of Directors (Volunteer). The role would require a few hours each month and can be located anywhere in the US.

    As a Board Member you’ll:

    • Provide management guidance and advice focused on organizational planning, audience growth, and increased revenues.
    • Alongside other members of the Board, provide strategic governance and oversight.
    • Help position LFT as a leader in animal advocacy by providing expertise in your field.
    • Work closely with other Board Members and staff to identify strategic opportunities, conduct analysis, and launch programs related to the company’s well-being and growth.
    • Build internal and external networks by identifying opportunities to develop and strengthen relationships that advance the organization’s programs

    About You:

    • Compassionate, knowledgeable, and experienced related to animal protection and/or welfare.
    • Committed to the rights of animals and driven to help end animal abuse.
    • Demonstrable skills and abilities in leadership, strategic planning, and effective communication.
    • Possess a willingness to learn more about the nonprofit, prepare for and attend board and committee meetings, ask questions, take responsibility and follow through on assignments.
    • Model integrity, reliability, critical thinking, and professionalism.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to think creatively, and work well within a group setting.
    • Preferred education in law, business, marketing, journalism/PR or related field.
    • Preferred experience serving on nonprofit boards.

This is a fabulous opportunity for someone looking to serve at the board level for an organization that truly believes in giving a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves.

If this is something that sounds interesting to you, send us your resume. We are looking forward to hearing from you.
