Volunteer-Internship: Community Climate Action

Find the climate fixes a village can afford and will use, then help put one in place and track it.

What you will do

• Survey and interview households about fuel, energy, water and farming.
• Shortlist low-cost changes with the village, and plan one together.
• Help put it in place, then track whether it lasts.
• Leave a short climate plan the village can keep using.

Who this is for

• Students and graduates of environmental science, biology, economics or a close field.
• You can stay six months, long enough to see a change through.
• You would rather test an idea in a village than polish it in a report.

What you get

• A project you shape with your mentor, not a fixed role.
• A free letter confirming your dates and your work when you finish.

What it costs

This placement is unpaid. A monthly fee covers your shared room, meals, internet, training, mentoring, local transport for the work, and the papers for your visa.

• From abroad: USD 810 for one month, USD 1,350 for three, USD 1,980 for six, plus a refundable USD 45 deposit. You need health and evacuation insurance.
• From India: ₹9,000 a month for one month, falling to ₹3,000 a month for six, plus a refundable ₹1,500 deposit for some housing.
• Not included: flights, visa fees and insurance.
• Group discounts and scholarships can lower the fee.
• The fee is less than your stay costs us.
