    Description

    This role supports the daily coordination of programs, volunteers, donors, and community events. It combines operations, outreach, and event execution in a fast-moving, hands-on environment.

    This is a role for someone who is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable taking initiative. Much of the work happens in real time, supporting food distribution, volunteers, and community-facing events. Your work directly supports the flow of rescued food and community programming.

    What You’ll Do

    Program & Office Operations

    • Support day-to-day program coordination and administrative tasks
    • Organize program documentation, records, and basic filing systems
    • Help manage supplies and keep operational areas organized
    • Support email communication and basic scheduling tasks

    Volunteer Coordination

    • Help schedule and coordinate volunteers for programs and events
    • Communicate with volunteers before and during shifts
    • Ensure volunteers are prepared and supported in their roles

    Donor & Partner Support

    • Assist with maintaining donor and partner records
    • Support follow-up communication and basic relationship management
    • Help process and track donations and contributions

    Events & Community Programs

    • Help plan, set up, and run community events (including swaps and seasonal events)
    • Support logistics, scheduling, and on-site coordination
    • Assist with setup and breakdown of event spaces and materials

    Food Rescue Support (As Needed)

    • Assist with food rescue coordination when needed
    • Support sorting, organizing, and distributing rescued food
    • Help ensure food flows efficiently through programs during busy operations

    What Success Looks Like

    • Programs and events run smoothly with strong volunteer support
    • Records and communication stay organized and up to date
    • Events are well-prepared, staffed, and executed cleanly
    • Donor and volunteer communication is timely and consistent
    • You step in, solve problems, and keep operations moving without waiting for direction

    What We’re Looking For

    • Strong organization and follow-through
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
    • Ability to communicate clearly with volunteers and community members
    • Willingness to take initiative and handle shifting priorities
    • Basic computer skills (Google Suite or Microsoft Office)
    • Interest in nonprofit operations, community work, or food systems
    • Experience with events, coordination, or admin support is helpful but not required

    About the Work

    This is a small, community-based food rescue and distribution effort focused on reducing food waste and increasing access to nutritious food. The work is hands-on, fast-moving, and deeply connected to real community needs.
