    Volunteer application, proof of a negative TB test in the last 12 months, proof of flu shot during flu season (usually October through May), background check, and attend an in-person volunteer orientation.

    Description

    Activities Assistant (18+)

    Main Duties

    1. Help residents enjoy activities such as music performances, art activities, trivia and games, and happy hours.
    2. Tasks include moving tables and chairs for different activities, setting up supplies and cleaning up after activities, gathering residents for activities, taking residents back to the nurse’s stations after activities.
    3. Depending on the activity, help residents by finding the page in songbook, assist using a paintbrush, or help residents mark a Bingo card, etc.

    Desired Traits and Qualities

    Friendly smile, patience, kindness, compassion, communication, ability to follow directions and ask questions for clarification if necessary.

    Shifts are typically 10:00 am to noon or 2:30 to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. We do not have weekend openings and volunteers must have a car as we are not off of a bus line.
