2025 -2026 Volunteer Reading Tutors needed for Quarterfield Elementary, Severn

STAIR-Annapolis, Start The Adventure In Reading, is a twice-weekly, AFTER SCHOOL literacy tutoring program for Anne Arundel County Public School first and second grade students reading below grade level. Tutors work one-on-one with a student for one hour and fifteen-minute-long session, and we offer our volunteers the flexibility to choose their level of commitment: one day per week, two days per week, or as a substitute on an as-needed basis. Stair-Annapolis has 15 sites throughout Anne Arundel County, and we place tutors at sites that are convenient to their home. We opened a 16th new site at Quarterfield Elementary School, 7967 Quarterfield Road, Severn, in late January of 2026. This site will meet on Monday and Thursdays from 2:30-3:45. STAIR is held from early October to early May.

Please contact volunteer_coordinator@stairannapolis.org for more information. We will have a short 45 minute information session in early April (details TBD). This will be an overview of the STAIR program. We will continue to schedule Information sessions throughout the summer for all interested volunteers, and will begin to schedule the required 2 hour curriculum trainings in late summer.
