    Description

Deliver Meals to Older Adults in Roseville!

Volunteering with Optage Meals provides a golden opportunity to help older individuals in your community! Our volunteers deliver much more than a meal—they bring warm smiles and much-needed safety checks to seniors and adults with disabilities. As a driver, you will make valued connections with your neighbors and help them remain independent in their own homes. Volunteers deliver meals to clients, put away meals in clients' freezers, and bring cheer to everyone they interact with. Volunteers are invited to bring their spouse, children, or grandchildren in the car with them!

    Essential Duties for Volunteers:

    • Delivering meals to the apartments and houses of clients
    • Following delivery route instructions
    • Reporting back to primary Optage driver, intake team, or volunteer coordinator with any concerns
    • Maintaining a respectful relationship with clients, staff, and volunteers
    • Maintaining confidentiality of client records and personal information

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Outgoing, caring, and cheerful
    • Ability to provide positive customer service to people from all backgrounds
    • Access to your own vehicle
    • Valid driver's license
    • Valid proof of insurance
    • Ability to pass a background check
    • Reliable in all weather conditions
    • Ability to lift 15-30lb delivery bags into your vehicle and occasionally climb stairs with them

    Location and Time Commitment/Hours:

    • Each route takes between 1-2 hours to complete, but we're able to adjust the number of stops on your route depending on your time constraints. Meals will need to be picked up at the Optage Meals office in the morning, and the meals will be distributed throughout the Roseville area.

    Work Environment:

    • This position is completed using your own vehicle, and you will drive independently unless you choose to bring someone along in the car with you. Ride-along training is available if you would like additional help during your onboarding process.

    Benefits to Volunteers:

    • Ability to build meaningful relationships with seniors and adults with disabilities
    • Consistent recognition and appreciation
    • Flexible schedule
