    Live-In Counselor

    Job Summary:

    Join our community-oriented transitional living program as a volunteer Live-In Counselor. In exchange for your volunteer services, you will receive a private room, meals, and utilities in our Central Square, Cambridge location—just a 5-minute walk to the Red Line.

    Responsibilities:

    • Cover two evening shifts per week.
    • Facilitate community socializing and house chores.
    • Provide weekly one-on-one counseling sessions with 1-3 residents focusing on setting and achieving goals.
    • Attend three weekly meetings (staff, house and supervision).

    Ideal Candidate:

    • Compassionate and community-minded.
    • Eager to support residents in a friendly, community setting.
    • Strong boundaries and problem-solving skills.
    • At ease with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment.

    Note:

    • This is a non-clinical position; no mental health experience is required, but is helpful to have.
    • College degree not require.
    • A one-year commitment is preferred.
    • No pets allowed.

    About Us:

    We are a non-profit organization providing transitional living support to adults with mental health challenges while they work towards independence and self-sufficiency. Our residents are high-functioning, receive effective treatment, and engage in daily activities such as work, school, or volunteering.
