Description
The Justice for James Irby Sr. Foundation is seeking a volunteer to help locate, request, and organize public records relevant to our work with families affected by unsolved violent crimes.
What you’ll do
- Identify public agencies and records that may help answer specific case questions.
- Draft focused public-records requests for foundation review.
- Track requests, responses, deadlines, fees, and outstanding records.
- Index records received and note where documents reference materials that were not provided.
- Help maintain an accurate source trail for each case.
Strong writing, attention to detail, and experience with public records are valuable. Familiarity with FOIA or state public-records processes is welcome, but a willingness to learn and follow a documented process also matters.
