    Description

    Volunteer Screening Lead

Empower volunteers from the start. As a Volunteer Screening Team Lead, you’ll guide and support a team of screeners who help new volunteers find meaningful roles. Your leadership ensures every volunteer feels welcomed, informed, and connected—setting the stage for a fulfilling experience and a stronger Red Cross mission.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead with Purpose: Motivate and support a team of volunteer screeners to create a welcoming and effective on-boarding experience.
    • Ensure Readiness: Confirm screeners complete all required training and understand both national and regional processes.
    • Match with Meaning: Help screeners refer volunteers to roles that align with their skills and passions—so every placement supports the mission.
    • Stay Connected: Participate in regular meetings and maintain open communication with the Volunteer Services team and screening volunteers.
    • Support Systems: Ensure virtual tools and resources are used effectively to keep the team organized and responsive.

    Qualifications:

    • Team Builder: You’ve led teams before and know how to inspire others—especially volunteers.
    • Clear Communicator: You’re confident speaking on the phone and writing messages that are warm, professional, and clear.
    • Tech-Ready: You’re comfortable using online platforms and databases (training provided).
    • Service-Oriented: You enjoy helping others feel welcomed and supported.
    • Organized & Reliable: You manage tasks well and follow through on commitments.
    • Inclusive & Enthusiastic: You value diverse perspectives and bring positive energy to your work.
    • Experience Matters: Customer service, HR, or interview experience is a plus—but your people skills matter most.
