    Position Overview

    The Google Ads Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing paid advertising campaigns using Google Ads to increase visibility, engagement, and conversion across the organization’s programs and initiatives.

    This role ensures that advertising efforts are strategic, data-driven, and aligned with organizational goals, while maximizing performance and return on ad spend (or grant utilization, if applicable).

    Operating at the intersection of marketing strategy, analytics, and campaign execution, this role is critical to driving awareness and growth through paid media.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Campaign Strategy & Planning
      • Develop and manage Google Ads strategy
      • Identify target audiences and campaign objectives
      • Align campaigns with organizational priorities and initiatives
    1. Campaign Setup & Management
      • Create and manage:
      • Search campaigns
      • Display campaigns
      • YouTube/video campaigns (if applicable)
      • Configure targeting, keywords, and bidding strategies
    1. Performance Monitoring & Optimization
      • Monitor campaign performance and metrics
      • Optimize for:
      • Click-through rate (CTR)
      • Conversions
      • Cost efficiency
      • Continuously improve campaign results
    1. Keyword Research & Targeting
      • Conduct keyword research
      • Identify high-performing and relevant keywords
      • Adjust targeting strategies based on performance
    1. Ad Copy & Creative Alignment
      • Develop and optimize ad copy
      • Align messaging with marketing and brand voice
      • Test variations for performance improvement
    1. Budget & Spend Management
      • Manage advertising budgets effectively
      • Optimize allocation across campaigns
      • Ensure efficient use of funds or ad grants
    1. Analytics & Reporting
      • Track and analyze:
      • Campaign performance
      • Traffic and conversions
      • Provide regular performance reports
      • Translate data into actionable insights
    1. Conversion Tracking & Optimization
      • Implement and monitor conversion tracking
      • Ensure accurate measurement of campaign outcomes
      • Optimize campaigns based on conversion data
    1. Cross-Functional Collaboration
      • Work with:
      • Marketing (campaign alignment)
      • Programs (content and initiatives)
      • Development (campaign goals tied to fundraising or outreach)
      • Ensure cohesive messaging and targeting
    1. Compliance & Best Practices
      • Ensure campaigns follow Google Ads policies
      • Maintain account health and performance standards
    1. Documentation & Process Management
      • Maintain documentation for:
      • Campaign structures
      • Performance insights
      • Optimization strategies
    1. Continuous Improvement
      • Test new strategies and approaches
      • Improve campaign performance over time
      • Stay current with Google Ads updates and best practices

    Volunteer Commitment Expectations

      • Estimated Commitment: 10–15 hours per week
      • Flexible schedule

    Minimum Qualifications

      • 2–4 years of experience with:
      • Google Ads
      • Paid media campaign management
      • Strong understanding of:
      • Campaign structure
      • Keyword targeting
      • Performance optimization

    Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience with:
      • Google Ad Grants (nonprofit preferred)
      • Google Analytics
      • Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
      • Experience in remote teams
