Opportunity International Nicaragua is a community economic development nonprofit working in rural Nicaragua to expand access to education and entrepreneurship. Volunteers support our rural education and career readiness initiatives as English Teaching Assistants at Escuela Secundaria Técnica Emprendedora, our technical high school outside Granada.
Responsibilities:
- Support local English teachers with daily lessons
- Run English conversation groups with small groups of students
- Help prepare students for English presentations and other evaluations
- Contribute to the long-term goal of all students achieving B2 English proficiency by graduation

Program Details:
- Location: Granada, Nicaragua
- Timeline: July 2025 – June 2026
- Break: Early December – late January (volunteers return home)
- Stipend: Covers the cost of food and living expenses
- Housing: Free housing in central Granada
- Arrival: Includes 3-week Spanish immersion and homestay
