    Description

King County, WA - Certified Volunteer Long-Term Care Ombuds

Make a difference in the lives of residents in long-term care settings by becoming a Certified Long-Term Care Ombuds! Our Certified Long-Term Ombuds volunteers come from all walks of life, various age groups, ethnic background and educational levels. The common thread is an interest in serving older adults and persons with disabilities. Certified Long-Term Care Ombuds volunteers visit with residents, investigate and resolve complaints, and advocate for residents living in long-term care facilities (nursing homes, adult family homes and assisted living). If you're a good listener and a strong advocate, help give frail and vulnerable residents a voice by joining our program. Contact us today for more information!

Training is required for all individuals who wish to volunteer as a certified Long-Term Care Ombuds in Washington State. Volunteers receive 32 hours of training, over four days. Training includes on-site visits and some homework. There is no cost to participate; however, you must complete and pass the volunteer application process.
