SEVA Travelers has partnered with GlobalGiving to identify great nonprofits in low- and middle-income countries. Together we have reached out to almost a thousand NGOs in the Global South about our suite of pro bono consulting services and the possibility of hosting a SEVA Traveler. Thanks to this exciting partnership, S.E.V.A. SEVA Travelers offers several exciting host organizations across Brazil, with opportunities based in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Belo Horizonte. These nonprofits focus on social development, education, community empowerment, mental health, and economic inclusion in marginalized communities. Volunteers will collaborate with innovative leaders and changemakers to strengthen fundraising capacity, enhance international donor relations, and develop global communication strategies. Through these partnerships, volunteers will gain firsthand experience supporting impactful social enterprises while contributing to long-term, sustainable change across Brazil’s vibrant communities.

Rede Cidadã – Belo Horizonte, Brazil
A nationally recognized social organization that connects people to employment and personal development opportunities through innovative programs. Rede Cidadã recently began seeking donors outside of Brazil and is looking to expand its international fundraising reach. Volunteers will help design global fundraising strategies, identify new donors, and strengthen the organization’s international visibility through improved communications and storytelling.
Dara Institute – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
A globally respected nonprofit dedicated to reducing poverty through an integrated approach to health, housing, income, and education. The Dara Institute seeks support in structuring fundraising strategies across international platforms such as GlobalGiving and Benevity Causes. Volunteers will provide consulting on platform optimization, campaign development, and international donor outreach to enhance global visibility and donor engagement.
Instituto Dom – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Focused on social innovation and capacity-building for community organizations, Instituto Dom aims to strengthen its fundraising and international partnership network. Volunteers will help refine presentations for global audiences, identify potential donors and foundations, and design outreach strategies that create more “face-to-face” engagement opportunities with international supporters.
Favela Inc. – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
An ecosystem of interconnected social projects and impact businesses within Rio’s favelas, Favela Inc. works to promote sustainable entrepreneurship and community empowerment. Volunteers will play a vital role in developing grant strategies, refining the organization’s website and marketing materials, and building compelling pitch decks for global donors. This work will directly support Favela Inc.’s goal of driving income generation, job creation, and long-term autonomy for marginalized communities.
Instituto Ame Sua Mente – São Paulo, Brazil
A nonprofit organization advancing mental health awareness, advocacy, and education across Brazil. Volunteers will assist in strengthening the organization’s fundraising structure, focusing on relationship-building with major donors and diversifying funding streams. Support may include developing communications materials, donor retention strategies, and capacity-building plans for sustainable growth.
Associação de Apoio à Criança em Risco (ACER Brasil) – São Paulo, Brazil
An established organization supporting at-risk children and families through education, social inclusion, and empowerment initiatives. ACER seeks assistance in executive coaching for leadership development and the creation of donor campaigns based on existing GlobalGiving projects. Volunteers will provide strategy consulting on expansion planning, donor engagement, and campaign design to grow ACER’s U.S. donor base.
