    Sponsorship & Community Partnerships Lead

    About the Role

    The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) Minnesota Chapter is seeking a motivated, organized Sponsorship & Community Partnerships Lead to help grow our funding and community support through corporate sponsorships, grants, and donations.

    this role is ideal for someone comfortable with research, outreach, and relationship-building. In addition to identifying opportunities, this volunteer will help initiate contact with potential sponsors by phone and/or email - using AFSP-provided materials and guidance.

    What You'll Do

    • Research and identify potential corporate sponsors, foundations, and community grant opportunities
    • Prospect local and regional businesses for event sponsorship, donations, and partnerships
    • Identify non-traditional funding opportunities (employee giving programs, matching gifts, cause marketing, etc.)
    • Initiate outreach through introductory phone calls, emails, and follow-ups to gauge interest
    • Track prospects, contacts, and outreach status in a simple shared system

    Who This is Great For

    This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys people-facing work and is comfortable making professional asks, including individuals with experience or interst in:

    • Sales, business development, or relationships management
    • Fundraising or nonprofit development
    • Marketing, communications, or community outreach

    No prior nonprofit fundraising experience is required - training, talking points, and support are provided!

    • Comfortable making outbound phone calls and professional asks
    • Strong research, organization, and follow-up skills
    • Clear, professional communication (written & verbal)
    • Self-motivated and reliable
    • Passion for mental health and community impact
