    About Us:

Delta Rising Foundation accelerates science-based, systemic solutions while building sustainable systems for long-term community impact. We support initiatives in climate solutions, regenerative design, resilience, and sustainability, and are growing our team to strengthen program management and operational impact.

    Role Summary:

The Volunteer Dynamic Baseline Modeling Subject Matter Expert will lead the development, validation, and refinement of dynamic baseline methodologies for climate and sustainability projects. This role ensures that baseline scenarios are scientifically robust, data-driven, and aligned with industry standards, enabling accurate measurement of project impact, carbon accounting, and long-term environmental benefits.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement dynamic baseline models for nature-based and climate-focused projects.
    • Design methodologies that reflect changing environmental, economic, and policy conditions over time.
    • Validate and refine baseline assumptions using data analysis and scenario modeling.
    • Collaborate with technical and project teams to integrate baseline models into project design and monitoring frameworks.
    • Conduct research on evolving standards, methodologies, and best practices in baseline modeling and carbon accounting.

    Requirements:

    • Background in environmental science, economics, data science, climate science, or a related field.
    • Experience in baseline modeling, environmental modeling, or quantitative analysis.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Python, R, or similar.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Familiarity with carbon accounting standards and methodologies (e.g., Verra, Gold Standard).
    • Experience with climate or environmental data modeling and scenario analysis.
    • Understanding of nature-based solutions and emissions reduction frameworks.
    • Experience working on nonprofit, environmental, or impact-driven projects.

    Why Volunteer with Us:

Your expertise will directly strengthen the integrity and credibility of our climate initiatives by ensuring accurate, high-quality baseline modeling. You will play a key role in enabling transparent impact measurement, supporting carbon project development, and advancing scalable, science-based solutions for global sustainability.
