Job Title: Special Assistance Field Volunteer
Special Assistance Program: Ohlone Humane Society (OHS) is working to keep pet families together, whether living on the streets or in a home. We believe that pets are family and we have been successfully able to help feed those in need through our Pet Meals on Wheels Program. OHS can assist extremely low income families, seniors with fixed incomes, and disabled or unsheltered owners of pets with necessary preventative care who are unable to afford basic healthcare or unexpected urgent costs for their pets.
By assisting this population, we can work with our partner veterinarians to help keep their pets from becoming irreversibly sick from a condition that could have been treated in the early stages. We are also trying to help those who find themselves needing urgent care for their pets but may have to rehome their pet if they cannot afford to visit the veterinarian.
OHS Mission Statement:
Ohlone Humane Society strives to inspire respect and compassion for all animals, advocate for their interests and welfare, and instill in our community that all living beings have a right to be treated humanely.
