    Description

The Development & Special Events Intern will play a meaningful, hands-on role in supporting SFIA's fundraising, donor engagement, and community events during a pivotal season of growth. This internship offers real-world experience across grant research, donor communications, event logistics, and nonprofit operations — all in service of a mission that changes lives.

This is a hybrid position. Remote work is supported for research and administrative tasks; attendance on-site is required for all events, outreach activities, and community engagements.

    Key Responsibilities

    Development & Grant Support

    • Research grant opportunities aligned with SFIA's programs and mission priorities
    • Assist with drafting grant applications, letters of inquiry, and funder reports
    • Maintain a grant calendar and track submission deadlines and reporting requirements
    • Help organize donor records and acknowledgment correspondence

    Special Events

    • Support logistics planning for SFIA's One-Year Anniversary Event (October 17, 2026), including vendor coordination, volunteer scheduling, and supply management
    • Assist with Faith Feeds & Blessing Bag outreach events, including assembly, distribution, and volunteer coordination (on-site required)
    • Help create event rundowns, checklists, and post-event reports
    • Support setup, registration, and day-of operations at donor and community events

    Communications & Marketing

    • Draft social media content, newsletters, and event promotions to support fundraising campaigns
    • Assist with creating materials for donor outreach and community awareness
    • Contribute to maintaining SFIA's brand voice — faith-forward, community-centered, and authentic

    General Nonprofit Operations

    • Attend weekly check-ins and contribute to team planning discussions
    • Provide administrative support as needed across SFIA programs
    • Document learnings and assist in building organizational systems and resources

    • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Public Administration, Social Work, Marketing, or a related field
    • Genuine passion for community service and faith-based mission work
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks in a remote/hybrid setting
    • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) or Microsoft Office
    • Comfortable working with diverse communities and in community event environments

    Preferred (Not Required)

    • Prior experience in nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, or event coordination
    • Familiarity with Canva, Mailchimp, or social media management tools
    • Experience volunteering with faith-based or community service organizations

    • Hands-on experience in nonprofit development, grant writing, and special events
    • A portfolio of real deliverables — grant research, event materials, communications
    • Mentorship from SFIA's founding leadership
    • The opportunity to contribute to a growing organization at a milestone moment in its history
