SEVA Travelers has partnered with GlobalGiving to identify great nonprofits in low- and middle-income countries. Together we have reached out to almost a thousand NGOs in the Global South about our suite of pro bono consulting services and the possibility of hosting a SEVA Traveler. Thanks to this exciting partnership, S.E.V.A. SEVA Travelers offers host organizations across Sri Lanka, working with impactful nonprofits that empower youth, strengthen families, and improve community wellbeing. These partnerships focus on education, poverty alleviation, foster care advocacy, and social change through behavior-based community engagement. Volunteers will help expand each organization’s capacity in storytelling, monitoring and evaluation, fundraising, and partnership development — all while immersing themselves in Sri Lanka’s rich cultural and natural beauty.

Tea Leaf Trust – Maskeliya, Sri Lanka
An established education NGO transforming the lives of young people and their communities in Sri Lanka’s tea estates. Founded in 2009, Tea Leaf Trust provides free, empowering vocational education to marginalized youth, helping them break cycles of poverty. Volunteers will support the organization in strengthening its impact storytelling, monitoring and reporting systems, and strategic education development. There is also opportunity to assist in building relationships with corporate partners and donors to expand their growing network of education centers.
Their Future Today – Dodanduwa, Sri Lanka
A child welfare organization dedicated to reducing family separation and ending institutionalization through family empowerment and foster care advocacy. Their Future Today’s “20 for 20 Project” supports 20 families in crisis by reuniting children with their families and helping them escape cycles of poverty. Volunteers will help develop compelling fundraising proposals, design outreach strategies to attract major donors, and build campaign materials for the 20 for 20 initiative and foster care awareness.
Family Wellbeing Centre – Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka
Focused on improving social wellbeing through behavioral and social change initiatives, the Family Wellbeing Centre builds connections between local and international communities to create more inclusive and resilient societies. Volunteers will help design and implement global fundraising campaigns to support short-term community action projects and train local “community champions” in fundraising and outreach.
