Inviting local teens to be a part of the Hospice & Community Care's SoulMates Teen Volunteer Program!
"Being a part of the SoulMates Teen Volunteer Program has been incredibly rewarding. I get so much more out of this experience than what I give." - Teen Volunteer
Hospice & Community Care's SoulMates Teen Volunteer Program is a unique and rewarding way for local teens, ages 15-18, to give back to their community while also gaining valuable, hands-on professional skills.
SoulMates Teen Volunteers can serve in a variety of roles:
- Provide companionship to patients at the Bob Fryer & Family Inpatient Center in Mount Joy
- Record patient's life stories through interviews & life reviews
- Greet visitors coming to see loved ones at the Inpatient Center
- Play music or sing to patients
- Help prep light meals, snacks, and coffee for patients & visitors
- Support special community or fundraising events
To join the SoulMates Teen Volunteer Program you must attend an inperson volunteer training. Teen volunteers must also have a flu vaccination (from November 1st to March 31st) and complete a 2-step tuberculosis test. All necessary training will be provided by a team of dedicated Volunteer Coordinators.
