    Description

    About the Role

Are you passionate about storytelling, graphic design, and community empowerment? AALR is looking for a creative and organized volunteer to help us elevate our digital footprint! In this role, you will help us showcase our global initiatives, multi-year youth programming, mentorship initiatives, and community impact. Instead of starting from scratch, you will dive into our past programs, success stories, and photo archives to design graphics.

    What We’re Looking For

    • Basic experience with graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe, or similar platforms).
    • Familiarity with Instagram and Facebook.
    • Strong storytelling skills: ability to turn past event notes into short, punchy, inspiring captions.
    • Self-motivated, organized, and reliable, with an appreciation for low-key, flexible time commitments.

    Who Are We?

AALR, which stands for Asserting Achievement Literacy & Resiliency, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in the western suburbs of Chicago since 2000. Since 2014, we have sharpened our focus on educating youth and young adults through our activities, which are centered on empowerment and service. Please look around and discover the programs and activities we are pursuing in the western suburbs of Chicago and beyond: https://www.aalr4success.org/

    Why Volunteer With AALR?

Make a Tangible Impact: Your work directly helps a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit reach more families, youth, and potential donors in the Chicagoland area and globally.

Build Your Portfolio: Add real-world social media management, graphic design, and digital marketing experience to your resume or LinkedIn profile.

Flexible Schedule: This is a low-key, remote-friendly role designed to fit around a busy student or working professional schedule (~ 5 hours a month).
