    Become a Community Connector: Volunteer as a Promotora

    Help bridge the gap between families and life-changing dementia resources in your community.

    At George G. Glenner Alzheimer’s Family Centers, Inc.(r), we know that support begins with connection. Our mission is to provide compassionate, affordable adult day care and support services to families across San Diego County who are navigating Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

    • We’re looking for enthusiastic and community-minded volunteers to serve as Promotorasoutreach ambassadors who help spread the word about our programs and connect individuals and families with the resources they need.

    What You'll Do

    As a Promotora, you’ll help strengthen our presence in the community by:

    • Sharing information about Glenner Centers at community events, churches, schools, and neighborhood gatherings
    • Distributing flyers, brochures, and outreach materials
    • Talking with community members to raise awareness about our services
    • Connecting individuals with staff who can guide them to support, education, or care
    • Supporting our team during outreach events or tabling opportunities

    Ideal for Volunteers Who Are:

    • Comfortable or used to sharing information with others
    • Friendly and passionate about community health and caregiving
    • Bilingual or comfortable working with diverse communities (preferred but not required)
    • Comfortable talking with new people and representing a trusted organization
    • Interested in building community connections and learning about dementia care resources

    Location & Schedule

    • Outreach opportunities throughout San Diego County
    • Flexible scheduling, including some evenings and weekends for community events
    • Volunteers will meeting with CMO prior to marketing events to recieve support and information

    How to Get Started

    1. Submit a volunteer application: Volunteer Application

    3. Complete a background check
    4. Provide TB test and COVID-19 vaccination documentation (vaccine exemption
    5. requests accepted)
    6. Attend our 6-hour orientation (part online, part in person)
