    About Us:

    Delta Rising Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to sustainable, regenerative design. Through our Sustainability Architecture Initiative, we combine cutting-edge engineering and nature-inspired solutions to create sustainable, cooler urban environments that combat heat islands and promote biodiversity.

    Role Summary:

    We’re looking for innovative and motivated engineering students to join our “More Shade for More People” initiative. This project focuses on developing sustainable shade structures that integrate renewable energy, water collection, and green infrastructure to support urban sustainability.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to design and prototype sustainable shade structures.
    • Engineer solutions that maximize shaded areas while incorporating solar energy collection and rainwater harvesting.
    • Research and test sustainable materials to ensure durability, functionality, and eco-friendliness.
    • Conduct simulations and analyses to optimize designs for structural integrity and environmental impact.
    • Assist with prototyping and testing solutions for energy efficiency and water storage.
    • Contribute to technical reports and presentations on project progress and outcomes.

    • Interest in sustainable architecture and climate-resilient solutions.
    • Strong analytical, collaborative, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Passion for making an environmental impact through engineering.
