    Description

Trauma-Informed Yoga Program Support Volunteer at Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA)

Do you love yoga, or are you interested in yoga, wellness, and creating welcoming community spaces?

Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA) offers a weekly Trauma-Informed Yoga class every Monday from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at our Heart-Centered Yoga Studio in Lafayette. We are looking for two dedicated volunteers, age 18 or older, to help us create a calm, organized, and welcoming experience for participants each week.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys yoga, connecting with people, and helping behind the scenes to make a community program run smoothly.

Volunteers arrive at 3:30 p.m. and stay until approximately 5:30 p.m. You will help prepare the studio before class, welcome participants as they arrive, assist with check-in materials, waivers, and surveys, support the yoga instructor as needed, and help reset the studio afterward.

During the yoga session, volunteers are welcome to participate in the class while remaining available if assistance is needed.

    Volunteer activities include:

      • Preparing the Heart-Centered Yoga Studio before participants arrive
      • Welcoming participants and helping create a warm, comfortable environment
      • Assisting with sign-in, waivers, and program surveys
      • Setting out and organizing yoga mats, blocks, bolsters, chairs, and other studio supplies
      • Helping keep shared yoga equipment clean and ready for use, including wiping down mats, blocks, and other frequently used items as needed
      • Supporting the instructor with simple program needs
      • Participating in the yoga session while remaining available to assist
      • Helping reset and tidy the studio after class so the space is ready for the next program

    Schedule: Mondays, approximately 3:30–5:30 p.m.

    Yoga class: 4:00–5:00 p.m.

Location: MESA, 1455 Dixon Avenue, Suite 210, Lafayette, Colorado

You do not need to be a yoga instructor. This role is about hospitality, reliability, organization, and helping us create a supportive community space.

MESA is Boulder County’s sexual violence resource center and provides free and confidential advocacy, support, holistic programming, and community education to people impacted by sexual violence.

If this sounds like a meaningful way to spend your Monday afternoons, we would love to hear from you.
