    Description

Volunteer Haunted Trail Director / Event Lead

One of my favorite things in the world is Halloween.

For years, I've dreamed about turning our five-acre rescue property into a haunted trail experience that people would talk about all season long. We have the woods. We have the trails. We have creek crossings, dark paths, and all the natural elements that make a haunted attraction feel real.

What we don't have is someone who knows how to take a vision and turn it into a plan.

Legacy Paws Rescue is a veteran-owned 501(c)(3) dog rescue and sanctuary in Catawba, NC, and we are looking for someone to help build our first haunted trail fundraiser from the ground up.

This isn't a volunteer role where you'll be handed a binder and asked to follow instructions.

This is an opportunity to help create something from the beginning.

We're looking for someone who enjoys event planning, project management, haunted attractions, festivals, live experiences, community events, or bringing big ideas to life. Whether your background is professional event planning or you've successfully organized large community projects, we'd love to talk.

    Responsibilities may include:

    • Helping shape the overall event experience
    • Creating planning timelines and milestones
    • Coordinating volunteers and workdays
    • Identifying vendors, sponsors, and community partners
    • Assisting with permits, safety planning, and logistics
    • Helping oversee event operations leading up to opening night

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who gets excited about building something that doesn't exist yet.

Legacy Paws is working to build a sustainable future for the animals in our care, and this fundraiser has the potential to become an annual community tradition that supports that mission for years to come.

Local applicants in Catawba County and surrounding areas are strongly preferred, as some on-site planning and coordination will be needed.

If you've ever looked at a wooded trail and immediately started imagining what it could become at night, we should probably talk.

To apply, please email volunteers@legacypawsrescue.org and tell us a little about yourself, your experience, and what excites you about this opportunity.
